Hockey Players of Kyrgyzstan Became World Champions

At the World Championship among youth teams of the third division (U-20 group), the national ice hockey team of Kyrgyzstan won the gold medals, achieving victory in the tournament.

The competition took place in Bishkek from January 18 to 24, with six national teams participating. The Kyrgyz team demonstrated excellent play, winning all five of their matches. They defeated the Hong Kong team 4:1, South Africa 7:2, Iran 15:1, Luxembourg 5:3, and Mexico 7:4.

Thus, the Kyrgyz hockey players scored the maximum number of points — 15 out of 15 possible, which allowed them to take first place in the final standings and become world champions in division 3B.

Moreover, this victory secured the team a promotion, and in the next season they will compete in group A of the third division.
