A herd of dozens of ibexes was encountered in the mountains of the Chuy region.
Ecologist Alexander Sosnovsky noted that "ibexes" are becoming increasingly common in high-altitude areas.
"In winter, ibexes form large herds consisting of 100 to 150 individuals. Interestingly, their coloration is darker in winter than in summer. During the winter period, their fur is gray-brown with a dark stripe along the back, the legs are dark, and the belly has a grayish tint. In contrast, the summer fur is lighter — this occurs due to the wear of the dark tips of the hair. In the cold season, herds of ibexes can often be seen in the gorges of the mountain slopes adjacent to the Kara-Balta River," Sosnovsky shared about his observations.
