On Friday evening, a rare case of a snow leopard attacking a person occurred in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region of China. The incident took place in Fuyun County, near the village of Talat and the settlement of Koktokay, according to local media reports.

A skier, dressed in a purple ski suit, was returning to his hotel after skiing when the predator jumped out of the forest and attacked him. After the attack, the man fell into the snow, and the snow leopard remained nearby for some time until bystanders were able to drive it away.

The victim, with lacerations on his face, was taken to the hospital, where he received necessary medical assistance and his condition was stabilized. The skier's life is not in danger.

In response to the incident, local authorities have increased patrols and begun conducting briefings for tourists about the need to exercise caution when encountering wild animals. Videos have appeared on social media showing both the victim and the snow leopard that was nearby.
