Kyrgyzstan Presented Health and Nutrition Measures at an International Forum

Bekten Tursunbekovich Bekbolotov, Deputy Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Food Processing Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic, participated in an international conference dedicated to food security in the context of climate change. This event, titled "Health and Nutrition in a Changing Climate," was held online and took place in Ashgabat, as reported by the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture.

For Kyrgyzstan, which is characterized by high vulnerability to climate change, issues of food security, health, and nutrition are a priority. The conference emphasized the implementation of the One Health concept, the development of sustainable agri-food systems, and strengthening cooperation at the regional level.

Participants noted that the regulatory framework in the field of food security has been significantly improved in Kyrgyzstan, and the State Program on Food Security and Nutrition is being implemented. More than 80% of educational institutions in the country provide hot meals for students.

Kyrgyzstan expressed its readiness to continue cooperation with international partners to effectively respond to climate challenges and to sustainably improve the health and nutrition of the population.
