At the World Economic Forum in Davos, Elon Musk shared his views on the development of artificial intelligence, stating that by the end of 2026, AI will be able to surpass the capabilities of any individual person. Moreover, according to his predictions, by 2031, AI will become smarter than all of humanity as a whole. These statements have been picked up by many media outlets, which are writing about this issue.

Musk emphasized that the pace of AI technology development is accelerating, and humanity may face technological singularity much sooner than previously anticipated. However, in his opinion, the main obstacle on this path is not the technology itself, but the lack of electricity. He noted that while the production of chips for neural networks is increasing, the energy infrastructure in many countries is not keeping up with this growth.
As one possible measure to address this problem, the entrepreneur suggested relocating some computations to space. SpaceX plans to launch satellites with integrated AI systems that can harness solar energy and effectively cool in a vacuum.
Additionally, Musk pointed out that despite the potential risks, the development of AI could bring significant benefits. He believes that with proper oversight, AI and robots like Tesla Optimus could become the foundation of a new era, where goods and services become more accessible and affordable for a wider audience.
