At the bus station in Nookat, located in the Osh region, a new toilet has caused dissatisfaction among local residents.

Previously, there were no toilet facilities in this place, and the townspeople had repeatedly appealed to the authorities for their installation.

According to the residents, the toilet turned out to be too small: there is "not even a meter" inside. They believe that its installation was done hastily and does not meet minimum requirements.

Tursunaly Azhykulov, one of the local residents, noted that the installation of such a toilet is perceived as mockery. "We do not have a bus station that meets modern standards. We returned it to the state more than a year ago. Drivers face difficulties, creating traffic jams on the roads. Despite the large area of the bus station, there is no asphalt, not even gravel has been brought in. And they made a toilet — it's just shameful. Even for the poor, this is unacceptable," he said.

According to him, the area of the bus station is 57 acres. "The territory is large enough for vehicles to enter and exit freely, but there are no conditions for this. On one side, the fence was built by the residents themselves. The city hall allocated 500,000 soms, but no funds were provided for the toilet and landscaping," Azhykulov added.

According to information from the video material, the cost of the toilet was about 8,000 soms. The issue of creating facilities at the bus station, including the toilet, has been raised multiple times, but remains unresolved.

Due to the lack of proper conditions, taxis and public transport are forced to stop their vehicles on the roadside, which, according to residents, leads to traffic jams on the roads passing through Nookat.

The mayor of Nookat, Askarali Abdiyev, explained that this toilet is intended only for temporary use. According to him, about 30 million soms will be needed for a complete renovation of the bus station and to bring it in line with modern requirements. "The bus station was previously privately owned, and there was also a gas station on its territory. We struggled to return it to the state through the courts. It will take 30 million soms to bring it fully in order. The city budget is 90 million soms, of which 85% is spent on social protection. Therefore, we do not have the opportunity to implement large projects," the mayor added.

He added that a project for the bus station has already been prepared and sent for consideration at the state level. "If funds are allocated, we will quickly build a bus station that meets international requirements. And the current solution is just a temporary measure," noted Askarali Abdiyev.

The new project includes the digitization and automation of all services, but the main problem remains the lack of funding.
