In the Batken region, over 1.4 million tons of coal were mined in a year
According to information provided by the representative office of the Batken region, the total coal production in 2025 amounted to 1 million 401 thousand tons. The data on the distribution of production by districts is as follows:
In the Kadamjay district, at three deposits in the rural area of Maidan, 960 thousand tons of coal were extracted, which accounts for 68.5% of the total volume in the region.
The city of Suluktu, with 46 coal mines, produced 430.8 thousand tons, which constitutes 30.7% of the total production.
In the Batken district, coal production amounted to 46.6 thousand tons.
The Leilek district showed results of 3.2 thousand tons.
There is significant demand for coal from Suluktu in the domestic market. However, the coal extracted from the Bel-Alma deposit is mainly supplied to the Osh and Jalal-Abad regions due to logistical peculiarities.
