One of the villages in the Chui region is set to be renamed
They reported that the authorities have already taken steps towards changing the name, however, 140 out of 155 people who participated in a survey in the village chat expressed their protest against this decision.
“We held a discussion in the chat, and the results showed that only 15 people support the renaming, while the majority are against it. Unfortunately, our opinion is being ignored,” they noted.
Additionally, residents shared that local authorities held a meeting on January 22 at 10:30, when many of them were at work and could not attend.
“The format of the meeting was inconvenient and did not promote transparency. We believe that such a decision affects the interests of the population and should be made with the active participation of residents. According to our information, the initiative comes from one influential person and is aimed at commemorating his father, rather than benefiting the entire village,” the locals added.
They called on the governing bodies of the state to pay attention to the emerging problems and reconsider the decision to rename the village of Dmitrievka.
