Deputy Minister of Energy Altynbek Rysbekov reported at a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh that citizens of Kyrgyzstan can install solar panels at their homes and sell excess electricity to the state at a price of 4 som 42 tyiyn per kilowatt-hour.
He also noted that a pilot project has started in the Chui region, within which solar panels were installed completely free of charge for 10 low-income families, and now they are selling the surplus electricity to the state.
Additionally, Rysbekov added that NESK purchases electricity from investors who are developing renewable energy sources and then sells it to the population at a lower price. This has led to a budget deficit for NESK of 10 billion soms in 2024, which will decrease to 2 billion in 2025. According to forecasts, the company will be able to avoid losses in 2026.
