At a recent meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh, Deputy Marlen Mamataliyev proposed to the Ministry of Energy the necessity of installing solar panels in private homes to reduce air pollution from smog.

He emphasized that such measures could have a more significant impact than previously undertaken actions.

“We recently received a loan of 50 million dollars to combat smog, but no changes are observed. If these funds were directed towards the installation of 5 kW solar panels, it would provide electricity to about 10 thousand homes without additional costs,” the deputy added.

In response, Deputy Minister of Energy Altynbek Rysbaev stated that work in this direction is already underway.

According to him, a project is currently being implemented aimed at installing solar power plants with a total capacity of 1 GW in 1000 villages across Kyrgyzstan.

“Together with ‘Eldik Bank,’ we are considering various financial mechanisms and conducting negotiations. A pilot project launch and the signing of the corresponding memorandum are planned in the near future,” he noted.

For his part, Mamataliyev suggested starting a pilot project with low-income families in the Pervomaisky district of Bishkek.
