At a press conference at the "Kabar" agency, the chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions of Kyrgyzstan (FPC), Muradil Jumadilde uulu, spoke about the insufficient awareness of young people regarding their labor rights and trade unions. According to him, many boys and girls do not know what a trade union is and what rights are guaranteed to them in the workplace.

To change this situation, the FPC, in partnership with the Commissioner for Children's Rights under the President of Kyrgyzstan, has begun organizing open lessons titled "My Labor Rights." These classes are held in educational institutions across the country.

"About 17,000 students from grades 9 to 11 have attended the lessons. We chose this age group because today they are schoolchildren, tomorrow they will be students, and the day after tomorrow they will be workers. Each of them should be informed about their labor rights," noted Muradil Jumadilde uulu.

He also emphasized that the main goal of the lessons is to inform children about labor legislation and the importance of an official employment contract. "Unfortunately, we sometimes receive inquiries from people who have suffered at work. For example, a mother came to us with her 17-year-old daughter who lost three fingers while working in a café. We could not help her because she did not have an employment contract. Therefore, we consider it extremely important to educate children about this knowledge in advance," he added.
