The initiative to reduce the working day for people with health issues in the summer was proposed by Deputy Meder Aliyev.

At the meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh held on January 22, parliamentarians discussed amendments to the Law "On Labor Protection." During the discussion, Aliyev emphasized that the climate changes in Kyrgyzstan are becoming increasingly noticeable and require legislative response.

He said: "The climatic conditions have changed significantly in recent years, and global warming is observed. In the summer, air temperatures can reach 40 degrees. In such conditions, elderly people, those with hypertension, as well as those suffering from diabetes and other diseases, particularly suffer. In some countries, more comfortable conditions are created for such groups by reducing the working day by two hours. Can we implement similar measures?"

Deputy Minister of Labor Kamchybek Dosmatov noted that the current legislation lacks provisions regarding special working conditions due to climate changes; however, this proposal deserves consideration.
