The chief engineer of bus fleet No. 2 of the municipal enterprise "Bishkek City Transport," Artur Omurzakov, shared information about disciplinary measures against drivers and the situation with violations on the air of Birinchi Radio. He noted that for violations of traffic rules and participation in accidents, drivers lose 100% of their bonuses.
Two commissions operate within the organization to analyze incidents: a disciplinary commission that assesses driver behavior, and a technical commission that deals with issues of damage and the condition of buses. Omurzakov explained that in the case of damage to a bus, the driver is required to compensate for the damage themselves. If they do not have the necessary funds, they can submit a request for a deduction from their salary. A defect report is drawn up, based on which the bus is repaired.
In 2025, 144 drivers were dismissed from the fleet for various reasons. "If a driver runs a red light, it results in dismissal without further investigation, as this is considered a gross violation," he emphasized. Despite the fact that materials are submitted to the disciplinary commission, the decision to dismiss is made unequivocally.
Omurzakov also added that regular meetings and explanatory work with the staff are conducted; however, there are also dishonest drivers. "We have already dismissed 57 people and added them to the blacklist. They will not be able to work with us in the future, nor will they have the opportunity to work in other city services, such as 'Tazalyk' and 'Zelenstroy'," he noted.
Drivers are subject only to administrative measures, including dismissal. In addition, the enterprise continues to conduct raids to check compliance with traffic rules and the proper approach of buses to stops. "As in the previous year, in 2025 we organized raids on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. Over the year, more than 144 events took place with the participation of over 100 employees, including the transport department. The main focus was on busy stopping points, such as the Osh Market, where passenger cars hindered the movement of buses," added Omurzakov.
