Speaker of the Parliament called to thank the Bishkek city hall for reducing smog
The capital has reached the "green zone" for air quality several times this winter, noted the speaker.
At a recent meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh, the speaker of the parliament emphasized that the Bishkek city administration has made significant efforts this year to reduce smog levels and deserves recognition for its work.
He noted that for the first time in many years, Bishkek has entered the "green zone" for air quality several times this winter. This category is determined by the level of pollutants: a lower concentration of harmful particles corresponds to a higher class, from hazardous to green, which is considered safe for health.
“It is important to note that this year we did not observe the usual thick smog as in previous years. The city authorities conducted an analysis of the causes, implemented necessary measures, and used various approaches, which are already yielding results. We should be able to express gratitude when work is done effectively,” said the speaker.
However, he also added that the problem of air pollution is not completely resolved, and its level is still felt. Nevertheless, the situation has significantly improved compared to previous years, and work in this direction continues.
