“Regardless of opinions, we may have to go for it. The proposal to revise tariffs has been made for a long time, and I have asked for it to be refined. We need to adapt the tariffs so that residents can switch to a cashless payment system. A complete transition to cashless transactions will improve compliance with traffic rules, as well as enhance passenger discipline and reduce driver distractions. This will help solve many problems and make the budget more transparent,” he added.
The mayor also noted that the issue of raising prices for cash payments was discussed.
“Currently, our city is short of about 400 drivers. To ensure an increase in their salaries, it may be necessary to revise the tariffs. Buses should be operated for at least ten years, and this requires regular technical maintenance,” Junushaliev concluded.
