Life in the Regions: Ainura Matraimova, after working in Russia, returned to her native village and creates decorations for festive celebrations
Aynura started this craft in 2022 after returning from Russia, where she had previously worked. In her free time, she enjoyed handicrafts and, realizing that she could support herself at home, decided to return. "The demand for handmade wedding baskets is increasing every year," she shares.
The prices for wedding baskets vary depending on their size and quality, ranging from 1500 to 2500 soms. These baskets are often used to decorate tables at weddings and other celebrations, adding a special atmosphere. Aynura also offers rentals: a set of 7-8 baskets for one day costs 2500 soms.
In addition to wedding baskets, Aynura creates flower-shaped lamps made of isolon, piggy banks, and various decorative bouquets. These items are in high demand for birthdays, anniversaries, and other holidays. In the near future, she plans to start decorating photo zones for the "söykö saluu" [putting on] ceremony.
Previously, Aynura also made bouquets from fresh fruits such as kiwi and mango, but she has now switched to compositions made from dried fruits. "If you approach the work creatively, you can also earn a living and live decently in rural conditions," she emphasized.
