In the Kyrgyz Republic, electronic bracelets are being used for the first time as part of a new format of protection orders, which was announced by Justice Minister Ayaz Bayetov.
According to information from the ministry, in the Oktobrskiy district of the capital, 15 individuals convicted of domestic violence have come under electronic monitoring. These individuals have received restrictions that can last from 20 days to three months, with mandatory use of GPS tracking and Face ID.
Representatives of the Ministry of Justice emphasized that the implementation of this system for temporary protection orders will begin next week, and in the future, it is planned to expand this practice to all districts of Bishkek and throughout the country.
This initiative has become possible thanks to the cooperation of the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the General Prosecutor's Office, the Supreme Court, and the Probation Department.
It is worth noting that the law introducing electronic monitoring into the protection order system was signed by the President of Kyrgyzstan in October 2025.
