Grandchildren Bring Completely Different Feelings: Aibek Junushaliev Talks About Family and Rare Leisure

In a podcast by the agency "Kabar," the mayor of Bishkek, Aibek Junushaliev, opened up about his personal life and how he spends time with his family during rare free hours. He has four children: two daughters and two sons.

His daughters, who are in the 7th and 9th grades, require attention, and as Junushaliev noted, he tries to seize every opportunity to spend time with them.

“Before the New Year, I managed to take two days off to take my daughters to the mountains to ski. I understood that after the holidays, I wouldn’t have time. Also, recently, when they mentioned the new movie 'Avatar,' we went to the cinema together. I try to give my children as much attention as possible when I have the opportunity,” the mayor shared.

Aibek Junushaliev also expressed regret that working in public service negatively affects the time he can spend with his family.

“Working in public service, I cannot devote enough time to my family. But on weekends, when my granddaughter comes over, I try to spend time with her. She is only 2.5 years old, and it’s a completely different feeling. When I spend time with her, I truly feel a sense of spiritual rest,” the mayor confessed.
