The main competition includes films such as "On the Sea" by Kornél Mundruczó, "Dao" by Alain Gomis, "Home Stories" by Eva Trobisch, and "Everyone is Excited About Bill Evans" by Grant Gee. The jury chair determining the best film is the renowned German director Wim Wenders.
The debut film program features 13 new projects, including "True Nakedness" by Muriel d'Ansembourg, "Chronicles of the Siege" by Abdallah Al-Khatib, and "Where?" by Assaf Mahnese. In the non-competitive section, viewers will be able to see "The Bloody Countess" by Ulrike Ottinger, "Good Luck, Fun, Don't Die" by Gore Verbinski, the new series "Lord of the Flies" by Marc Munden, and the documentary "The Ballad of Judas Priest" by Sam Dunn and Tom Morello.
The next Berlinale will take place from February 12 to 22, 2026, and the opening film will be "No Good Men" by Afghan director Shahrbanoo Sadat.
