Shorelines Without Cafés: Buildings in Water Protection Zones Being Demolished in Bishkek
Currently, municipal workers are dismantling the "Kekejev" cafe, located directly in the riverbed of the Alamedin River. This action has freed up a plot of municipal land measuring 2,380 square meters. A letter of claim issued by the Department for Land Use Control served as a signal for the owners to begin voluntary demolition.

The municipal commission has also decided to terminate the lease agreement with the owners of this facility.
According to information from the city administration, by 2025, 380 structures will be demolished in the city's water protection zones, of which 48 are capital structures and 332 are light constructions.
Work on clearing water protection areas is ongoing and will continue in the future.
