He noted that a bill proposed by the cabinet of ministers is currently being discussed in parliament. Among the proposed changes are stricter penalties for fatal traffic accidents and driving under the influence of alcohol. According to the deputy, the bill should include a provision stating that forced car evacuation should only be applied in exceptional situations.
The parliamentarian also pointed out that the "evacuation business" thrives due to the high cost of such services — 1,600 soms for transportation, for example, over a distance of just 3-7 kilometers. At the same time, there is a risk of damaging the vehicle, for which no one is held accountable.
In his opinion, car evacuation is necessary, but only in cases where fines are ineffective, as well as in situations where the movement of a vehicle obstructs emergency services or is in the zone of signs, for example, for the disabled," Bekeshev added.
