As part of the study in Kyrgyzstan, an assessment of male fertility was conducted among men suffering from urolithiasis and other andrological disorders. The article published in the journal "Healthcare of Kyrgyzstan" was written by A. Ch. Usupbaev, K. N. Stambekova, and N. A. Abdubaitov.

The authors note that andrological diseases in the republic occupy a significant place in the overall morbidity, and their number is increasing annually, especially among men of reproductive age. However, the impact of these diseases on fertility is still insufficiently studied.

The main objective of the research was to determine the level of male fertility in patients with urolithiasis (UL) after urethroplasty, as well as in men with genital infections and cystic formations in the area of the epididymis. The scientists aimed to identify key markers indicating a deterioration in sperm parameters.

To achieve the research goals, four groups of patients with various urological disorders were formed. Each participant voluntarily provided a semen sample within a month after diagnosis. The obtained results were compared with the indicators of a control group of healthy men living in the country.

According to the study, a decrease in fertility was observed in men of reproductive age with urological diseases based on key sperm parameters, including semen volume, percentage of normal sperm, their motility, viability, and sperm quality index, as noted in the publication.

Furthermore, the authors of the study emphasize that monitoring fertility in men with urological and andrological diseases can help reduce the risk of infertility and preserve their reproductive potential.
