In Osh, illegal constructions near schools must be demolished by March 1.

In the city of Osh, court proceedings took place regarding land plots related to 35 educational institutions that had previously been transferred into private hands. As a result of court rulings, some of these plots have returned to municipal ownership.

This information was announced by Nursultan Akylbek uulu, the chief lawyer of the Osh city administration.

“By court decision, the land plots of kindergartens No. 18 and No. 20, as well as the kindergarten ‘Aidanek’ and the schools named after Panfilov, Shevchenko, S. Sharipov, and Kirov have been returned to the balance of the city administration. Legal proceedings are also ongoing regarding illegal constructions around the Makarenko school. During inspections in the city of Osh, 70 hectares and 65 ares of land have been returned to municipal ownership, and work is currently underway to reclaim another 35 hectares,” he reported.

The press service of the city administration notes that a deadline of March 1 has been set for the demolition of illegal constructions located around educational institutions.

According to sources, Mayor Jengishbek Toktorbaev identified numerous illegal constructions during the inspections. He instructed the relevant services to completely clear the areas around schools of such objects by the specified deadline.

In particular, the following were identified:

around school No. 8 named after Gorky — 3 objects;

around school No. 6 named after Makarenko — 5 objects;

around school No. 57 named after Tajimatov — 12 objects.

Warnings were issued to the owners of the specified objects regarding the necessity of their demolition.

Additionally, there was previously a court case regarding the building of the ‘Kapital’ bank located next to the Makarenko school, in which the bank lost the case, and the court issued a ruling for the demolition of this object.

The court also decided to return the land plots related to the following objects to municipal ownership:

the schools named after A. S. Makarenko, Rudaki, Pushkin, kindergartens No. 15 and No. 3, the Osh regional children's hospital, the Osh city hospital, and the Osh city children's infectious disease hospital.

Currently, court proceedings are ongoing to reclaim the remaining social facilities.
