In the Tyup District, 1.5-meter snowdrifts formed after the snowfall — road workers reported on the situation

In the Tyup district, located in the Issyk-Kul region, the height of the snow cover in some areas reached 1.5 meters.

According to information provided by Turmush, Adilet Kambarbek uulu, the head of the road maintenance enterprise No. 35, reported that snow removal operations were carried out on the roads in the Jeti-Oguz district. In particular, work was conducted on the Shalba–Lipenka–Zhon-Bulak highway between the villages of Kabak and Lipenka, as well as on the section between Lipenka and Ichke-Bulun–Kytai. There, the snow depth ranged from 30 to 40 cm. The section of the Jeti-Oguz–Koysary highway from 0 to 15 km was also cleared, where inert materials were spread.

In the Ak-Suu district, snow removal work has also been completed on the Balykchy–Ananievo–KarakoL highway (207–216 km), and similar activities took place on the Karakol–Pristan section between 0 and 11 km. Additionally, work was carried out to eliminate snow drifts on the Boz-Bulun–Kara-Jal road, where the snow height in some places reached 80 cm.

"Additionally, the roads of the Tyup district were temporarily transferred for maintenance. A severe snowstorm was observed on the Mikhailovka–Nikolaevka–Toktoyan–Sary-Tologoy highway from January 16 to 18, 2026. Snow removal work is being conducted around the clock. In some areas, the height of the snow drifts reached 1.5 meters. Also, 13 km of the Dolon–Kosh-Dobo–Sary-Dobo–Min-Bulak–Aral road and 7 km of the Karasuu–Tasma–Chong-Toguzbay section have been cleared," he added.
