In Kara-Balta, a musical performance "King and Jester: Shadows on the Wall" was held.
This event became an important milestone in the cultural life of the region and was organized by students of the theater studio.
The production was carried out by the theater troupe "Purple Dreams" from the city of Kayindy in the Panfilov district, under the direction of Nezhdana Zaretskaya-Shcherbina, a teacher at the children's art school in Panfilov.
The performance, based on the music of the famous rock band "King and Jester," premiered in Bishkek at the youth festival "Russian Premiere," which took place on the small stage of the State National Russian Drama Theater named after Chyngyz Aitmatov.
In Kara-Balta, the performance was held on the stage of the Lenin House of Culture.
This production combines rock music, drama, and visual symbols, with all musical numbers performed by the participants of the theater studio themselves.
According to Nezhdana Zaretskaya-Shcherbina, the plot of the performance tells of the confrontation between the tyrant King and the Jester, who in the end will overthrow the ruler and transfer power to the people, renouncing the crown.
The role of the Jester was played by sixteen-year-old Daria Patratyi, who has been a student of the studio for six years and has twice been a prizewinner at the Delphi Games in the acting category.
Despite the successes on stage, the group faces serious difficulties: it lacks a permanent rehearsal space and stable financial support. Classes take place in school classrooms, and some stage elements are rehearsed outdoors. Costumes and props are stored with the director. Nevertheless, the theater continues to exist and develop.
