In Naryn Region, they counted how much livestock was slaughtered for memorials and weddings

In the Naryn region, efforts continue to organize memorial and family celebration rituals. As part of this activity, an analysis of the implementation of Presidential Decree No. 54 is being conducted, aimed at reducing unnecessary expenses.
According to the regional administration, during a meeting held by the Deputy Plenipotentiary Representative of the President in the Naryn region, Aydana Imanalieva, the progress of the decree's implementation was discussed. She emphasized the need to continue this work and noted instances of exceeding the norms for livestock slaughter.
In this regard, the deputies of the akims and the heads of the ayil okmotu were instructed to intensify explanatory work among local residents.
“Some citizens, by reducing expenses on memorial rituals and celebrations, redirect the saved funds towards improvements: road repairs, street lighting, greening, and the installation of benches near public facilities. These examples should be more frequently highlighted in the media. The goal of the decree must be communicated to everyone,” Aydana Imanalieva added.
According to data from 2025, 147 heads of cattle, 913 horses, and 186 sheep were slaughtered for memorials and weddings in the region. Additionally, 544 meetings with the population were held as part of explanatory activities.
According to the current regulations, in the Naryn region, the slaughter of one large cattle and one sheep is permitted during family celebrations and memorial rituals for the deceased.
