Athletes fishing in one of the ponds in Konstantinovka on the eve of the New Year 2026 were able to fully enjoy all aspects of sport fishing. The intense bite can be explained by the abnormally warm weather: there was no ice cover on the water body, which allowed anglers to use regular summer rods to catch carp, roach, and crucian carp.

As bait, they used maggots, corn, and larvae. The majority of the catch consisted of carp weighing between two and three kilograms. The fishermen caught so much fish that it was decided to return most of the catch back to the water.
