The Environmental and Technical Supervision Service under the Ministry of Natural Resources has initiated an official inspection of the activities of the LLC in connection with the pollution of the important Osh—Nookat highway.
Local residents report that the access road to the stone crushing plant has become muddy, and the wheels of heavy machinery are carrying mud onto the main road. The mud, mixed with water, flows to the shoulders, clogging the irrigation channels that are supposed to carry water during the spring floods.
Employees of the Osh Regional Office of the Environmental and Technical Supervision Service reported that an inspection is being conducted on site, and necessary measures will be taken soon. It was clarified that the crushing and sorting enterprise belongs to the LLC "Osh-Stroy Service." "There was a discharge of water, and the area is already dry now. We will send an official letter to the Ministry of Economy to obtain permission to take measures or issue a warning. During our visit, the owners were not present; only workers were on site," the office reported.
According to available information, the company "Osh-Stroy Service" is engaged in stone washing and gravel production in this area.
Earlier, after the appointment of Jenishbek Toktorbaev as the mayor of the city of Osh, the issue of quarries in this area became relevant. The mayor raised the problem of the negative impact of roadside quarries on the ecology and soil.
Last year, a decision was made to relocate the stone crushing quarries located along the Osh–Nookat highway to other regions. It was also mandated to carry out landscaping, dismantle fences, and organize the territory. It was reported that licenses for the activities of several quarries would be revoked and they would be closed.
Additionally, the creation of irrigation channels along the road was planned to direct water into the main channel, as there is a high likelihood of mudflows during the spring period. The construction of these channels, initiated by the Ministry of Transport and Communications, has not yet been completed.
According to the Ministry of Justice, the LLC "Oshstroyservice" was re-registered on May 8, 2015. The founder of the company is Borbueva Aizhan Kalibekovna, and the director is Azhimamatov Zhanibek Akparalievich. The main type of activity of the company is building construction.
