Bishkek City Hall: Bush Cutting is Part of the New Design Code of the Capital

All central streets are set to be improved like Chuy Avenue


Vice Mayor Ramiz Aliyev reported that the removal of bushes in the capital is part of a new design code for Bishkek. The city authorities plan to renovate all central streets similarly to Chuy Avenue by removing barriers, fences, and shrubs. The new project will focus on lawns and flowerbeds under the trees.

It is worth noting that ecologists and urban specialists have previously raised concerns about the importance of bushes for the urban ecosystem, which help reduce air pollution levels and improve the visual perception of busy streets.

Nevertheless, city authorities insist on the necessity of creating "open spaces." As part of this initiative, trolleybus transport, including wires and poles, has also been removed.
