They Come to the Hospital Directly. Ministry of Health on the Situation in Osh Hospital
According to the hospital director, Zhyrgalbek Tolorov, such situations are not uncommon after weekends and holidays, when the number of patients needing outpatient care and consultations with specialists sharply increases. For example, today, 600 people visited the facility, while the day before, on January 12, this number was around 800 children.
Despite the significant load, the hospital is fully prepared for scheduled admissions: it has 18 doctors' offices, three registration desks, two cashiers, and two terminals. In the morning, queues do form at the registration desk due to the issuance of tickets, but by 11:00, the situation stabilizes, and queues are usually no longer observed.
However, as Tolorov noted, there is a problem with many parents coming to the hospital without referrals from their local doctors in family medicine centers. The Osh Interregional Children's Clinical Hospital is a third-level institution, and its clinical diagnostic department is not intended for primary visits without prior routing.
Additionally, the facility has specialized services such as a trauma center, ENT department, and departments for surgery, intensive care, and emergency care, which allows for effective distribution of patients by profile.
The director emphasized that, despite the high workload, medical staff do not refuse patients: everyone who comes receives the necessary consultations and medical assistance. The Ministry of Health also urges parents to follow the routing and consult their local pediatricians in family medicine centers to avoid queues and receive timely referrals as needed.
