The breeders of the Naryn region have raised the issue of building a racetrack again.
According to Saralaev, equestrian sports are an integral part of most Kyrgyz national games. In 2023, during the celebration of the 230th anniversary of Khan Ormon Khan Niyazbek uulu, the national games were held in Orto-Tokoi due to the lack of a racetrack. This event prompted the beretirs of the Naryn region to discuss the necessity of creating a large racetrack to be built in the Kochkor district.
“At the 3rd People's Kurultai in 2024, I raised this issue, conveying the appeal of the beretirs of the Naryn region. As a result, with the support of local authorities, it was decided to allocate 26 hectares of land in the village of Kok-Zhar for the construction of the racetrack. At the 4th People's Kurultai, a new delegate from the beretirs was elected, who also raised this issue,” he noted.
Kalibay Saralaev expressed hope that the appeal would be heard by both the president and the regional authorities, allowing the project to receive the long-awaited support. He added that having a racetrack is extremely important for holding republican celebrations and anniversaries.
The beretirs also pointed out the existence of numerous racetracks in countries such as Turkmenistan and France, where there are over 5,000. In England, even the queen visits such establishments for leisure.
“If a racetrack is built here, young people will be able to spend their weekends not behind their phone screens, but at the racetrack, relaxing and engaging with national equestrian sports,” they added.
