Lack of Teachers. About 450 Vacant Positions in Bishkek Schools
Bishkek has 119 schools where 10,197 educators are employed.
This summer, authorities stated that there was a shortage of about 300 teachers in the capital. They promised to fill the vacancies by September.
However, the Ministry of Education reported different figures to 24.kg. According to the automated information system "Mugalim," the total number of open positions across the country is 761, of which 143 are in Bishkek.
The highest number of vacant positions is observed in the Chui region — 276. The Batken region has 127 vacancies, Issyk-Kul has 68, Jalal-Abad has 65, Osh has 55, Talas has 21, Naryn has 4, and the city of Osh has 2.
