The BELES Project for the Production of Domestic Buses is Suspended
Djusheev noted that recently there have been many emotional statements and inaccurate data circulating in public discussions related to the BELES project and the commitments allegedly made by the president and state structures.
“As a founder of the company with a 50% share, I consider it important to clarify the current situation.
Initially, we planned to launch the assembly and production of buses in Kyrgyzstan. However, during our interactions with the relevant authorities and specialists, we were pointed out serious deficiencies: non-compliance with international standards, technical requirements, the need for deep modernization, as well as the lack of a complete production and service cycle, which includes not only assembly but also subsequent maintenance and warranty obligations,” he added.
After careful analysis, it became clear that significant additional investments are required to eliminate these deficiencies, which far exceed the initial estimates. The investments made in the first phase were utilized, but further development of the project under current conditions has become financially impossible. That is why the project has been temporarily suspended,” emphasized Urmat Djusheev.
He also clarified that neither the president nor the state authorities have taken on legal or financial obligations to purchase BELES buses.
“Widespread opinions about 'unfulfilled promises' from the state are not true. Even if state orders were placed, the company would not be able to ensure the production and maintenance of buses in accordance with the current technical and service requirements.
We made this assessment consciously, so as not to mislead either the state structures or the public. Currently, we, as founders, are considering possible ways to refine the project, modernize it, and comply with the necessary standards, after which we will make further decisions,” summarized one of the founders of LLC "Beles.kg".
We remind you that four years ago, the first sample of the passenger bus BELES was produced in the republic. However, it was not possible to establish its further production.
