According to the latest data from a survey conducted at the end of 2025, the population of ibexes in the Batken region is 144 individuals.
Ecologists in the region believe that the appearance of wild animals in this area, despite the road construction, indicates that the natural environment here remains relatively untouched.

Ibexes typically move alone or in small groups. In quieter areas, they are active during the day, while in regions with high levels of poaching, they prefer nighttime outings. Their diet mainly consists of herbaceous plants. They reach sexual maturity at about 2.5 years, and the breeding season occurs in November and December. In April and May, females give birth to one or two offspring, which nurse until October or even longer.
Among the factors affecting the ibex population are poaching and harsh winter conditions. Their natural enemies include wolves, snow leopards, and, in rare cases, bears.
On December 25, 2025, Turmush reported that a road costing 888.9 million soms, connecting Sary-Talaa and Zardaly through Kyzyl-Tash, was put into operation.
At the IV People's Kurultai, attended by President Sadyr Japarov, various industrial and social facilities were inaugurated, including the road to the village of Zardaly.
The village of Zardaly is located in the mountainous area of the Batken district, 110 kilometers away from the district center. This settlement has two means of communication — road and pedestrian. Due to high mountain passes, road traffic often ceases during the winter months (from October to May) because of heavy snowfall, forcing local residents to traverse a section along the Koyeshken River on foot or on horseback.
By the president's directive, the road from Sary-Talaa to Kyzyl-Tash, which is 11 kilometers long and 3-4 meters wide, was expanded to 6 meters. A new section 7 kilometers long was also built from Kyzyl-Tash to Zardaly. A 30-meter metal bridge was constructed over the Koyeshken River, ensuring full road connectivity.
The new road project has reduced the distance by 26 kilometers, and now vehicle traffic will be possible year-round, as snow does not linger on this section.
The length of the Sary-Talaa – Kyzyl-Tash – Zardaly road is 18 kilometers, and its construction cost is 888.9 million soms.
