The Muftiate of the Kyrgyz Republic Warned Pilgrims and Travel Companies Organizing Umrah

The Muftiyat of Kyrgyzstan calls on those planning to perform Umrah, as well as tour operators, to consider potential risks and approach the organization of the pilgrimage with due responsibility.

In the DUMK, it was noted that in recent days there have been delays and temporary cancellations of flights, including international ones, due to sudden changes in weather, such as fog and rain. Pilgrims are advised to monitor official reports from meteorologists and take weather conditions into account when planning their trips.

Furthermore, the Muftiyat emphasized the necessity of signing a written agreement with travel companies, which should clearly outline the terms of service provision in case of force majeure — whether it be flight delays or accommodation issues.

Tourist firms authorized to organize Umrah are strongly encouraged to maintain communication with pilgrims, inform them promptly of any changes, and provide necessary assistance.

It is also important to note that only accredited travel companies have the right to organize Umrah in Kyrgyzstan.

According to the DUMK, permits have been issued to only a limited number of travel firms, and the activities of companies without the appropriate accreditation are considered a violation of the law. Citizens are urged to check in advance for the necessary documents from pilgrimage organizers.
