Our People Abroad: Kyrgyzstani Esen Sharshkeyev Refused a Job in Moscow for the Sake of His Son
He was born in Naryn in 1995.
According to Esen, he spent 2-3 years in Moscow working as a taxi driver, but after the video about him and his son was released, he decided not to return anymore.
“Unfortunately, my wife and I have separated. Currently, I live in Bishkek with my daughter and son. Sabina, my daughter, is 6 years old and is in the 2nd grade, while my son Habib is only 4 years old and started 1st grade early,” he explained.
In the video, users left many comments, such as: “He speaks wonderfully” and “Where did he get such skills?”. Esen clarified that his son lived with his grandmother and speaks Kyrgyz. “I try to ensure that he doesn’t feel the absence of his mother, and I spoil him,” he added.
He also mentioned that he had planned to leave for Moscow for 2-3 years, with the longest absence being up to 8 months. In the summer, he always returned home to spend time with his children and prepare them for school.
“After the video became popular, I received messages saying ‘Don’t leave, stay with your child.’ These words made me stay. I am confident that I can work here as well. Whatever will be, will be,” he concluded.
“I try to spend more time on my children's education and read books with them. Currently, I am interested in recording videos for social media and plan to start a business,” Esen concluded.
