The Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic warns about the increased risk of apartment burglaries during the New Year holidays

With the onset of the New Year and Christmas holidays, when many citizens go on trips, the likelihood of apartment burglaries significantly increases. This is reported by the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic.

The department emphasizes that criminals often take advantage of the prolonged absence of homeowners to commit thefts.

To reduce the risk of burglaries from apartments and private homes, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic recommends following a number of simple safety rules:

  • Before leaving, make sure that all doors and windows are securely closed, and if necessary, install additional locking devices;

  • Do not leave keys in accessible places, such as mailboxes or under doormats;

  • If possible, install security alarm systems and video surveillance;

  • Ask neighbors or close friends to check on your home from time to time;

  • Do not share information about your trips and vacation spots on social media.

In addition, connecting to centralized security allows for quick responses to alarm signals and significantly increases property protection.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs urges citizens to be attentive and responsible, emphasizing that following simple safety measures will help protect property and enjoy the holidays without troubles.
