Another house without monument status was demolished in Bishkek

Activists noted preparations for the demolition as early as the beginning of January, which was later confirmed by urban defender Iskander Burkanov.

According to Burkanov, the building was removed from the register of architectural monuments in 2018. This occurred in accordance with the law: residents appealed to the city hall requesting the building be recognized as emergency.
One of the owners had long been working on removing the house from the list of monuments and later bought out all the apartments, becoming the sole owner of the property.
Iskander Burkanov also presented a response from the prosecutor's office, which confirms the legality of the owner's actions from the perspective of urban planning legislation. Additionally, he contacted the State Committee for Architecture and Construction, where he was informed about the existence of a court decision that does not allow for intervention in the situation.
Although the building had historical value for local residents, its legal protection from the state was lost, allowing the owner to proceed with the complete demolition.
