In Balykchy, the lives of 6 families living by the railway have changed dramatically
“For 35 years, I lived in an old barrack located just two meters from the railway. This house, where six families lived, was in critical condition and at risk of collapse. Last year, railway workers came to us and stated that our house was on their territory, demanding its evacuation. My neighbors and I were very scared that we would be left without housing, so we decided to appeal to the city mayor,” Zhiparkul said.
The city authorities responded to our request and built six new identical houses in one of the modern residential areas. In an instant, our lives changed for the better. Now we live in bright and comfortable homes. One of the neighbors, who previously lived with her daughter due to health issues, also moved into new housing. Balikchy, which previously did not receive much attention, is starting to change for the better,” she added.
According to information from local authorities, power lines and a water supply system have already been installed in the new residential area. In the distant future, there are plans to repair the internal streets and launch a shuttle minibus for the convenience of transporting residents.
