Ten People Sentenced for Cyberbullying the First Lady of France

Ten people convicted for cyberbullying the First Lady of France
On January 5, a court in Paris found ten people guilty of cyberbullying and spreading false information about Brigitte Macron, the First Lady of France, allegedly born a man. Among the convicted are eight men and two women, who received sentences of up to eight months in prison, suspended. This was reported by Reuters.

They were accused of sexist and transphobic attacks related to a series of publications and videos claiming that Brigitte Macron is actually the brother of Jean-Michel Tronier. Additionally, the age difference between the spouses was also mocked, although they had previously ignored it, but it has now become the subject of legal proceedings.

On the evening before, in an interview with the TF1 channel, Brigitte Macron expressed hope that her fight against cyberbullying would serve as an example for others. She noted that the online attacks against her seem endless and include "people who hacked my tax office and changed my personal data." "A birth certificate is not just a piece of paper. It is the parents who confirm who their child is," commented the First Lady in response to the offensive remarks directed at her.
