“In the course of 11 months in 2025, 54,400 foreigners and stateless persons were forcibly expelled,” the agency indicates.
Compared to the same period last year, when the number of expelled migrants was 79,000, this figure has decreased.
The peak of expulsions was observed in 2024, which was associated with increased control following the terrorist attack at "Crocus City Hall" that occurred on March 22.
It is important to note that two years ago, changes were made to the mechanism of migration control. As of February 5, 2025, decisions on the expulsion of foreigners for violations of entry and stay rules in Russia, as well as for illegal labor activities, began to be made not by courts, but by the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Additionally, more than half of the migrants leave the country voluntarily after receiving an expulsion order, while the others are escorted by bailiffs to the state border.
