A public building is planned on the site of the former House of Government, - Vice Mayor of Bishkek
At the meeting, information was also presented about the city’s master plan development project until 2050.
In the summer of 2025, it became known that the building of the former House of Government, located on Abdumomunov Street, was removed from the list of historical and cultural monuments. This decision was signed by the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Adylbek Kasymaliev.
The construction of the House of Government began in the early 1950s. Initially, the building was intended for a party school; however, it later became the workplace of the highest authorities. Since the 1960s, the Central Committee of the Communist Party and the Council of Ministers operated there, and in the 1990s, the Jogorku Kenesh. After 2010, the building was transferred to the government.
Currently, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Economy and Commerce are located in this building.
