On March 22, 2026, the Minister of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic, Damir Osmonov, visited the village of Novopokrovka, located in the Issyk-Ata district of the Chuy region, as part of his working trip. This was reported by the ministry's press service.
During the visit, the minister familiarized himself with the process of major repairs to the building that was previously used as a hospital. After the completion of the work, a new regional maternity hospital with 100 beds will be opened here.
As reported by the health coordinator of the Chuy region, Almaz Askarov, funds for the major repairs are being allocated from the stabilization fund, and the work is planned to be completed by November of this year.
It should be noted that currently, the Chuy regional maternity hospital is located in a facility that previously served as a kindergarten, which significantly limits the possibilities for providing specialized medical care.
The opening of the new maternity hospital will create modern conditions for medical care for pregnant women and mothers, as well as improve the accessibility and quality of services in the field of maternal and child health in the Chuy region.
The minister emphasized the need to complete the repair work on time and instructed to ensure quality control over them.
