Oruntaev noted that the price per square meter amounted to 1,424 dollars (equivalent to 124,714 soms), which exceeds both market and state norms. The minister, after inspecting the construction site, emphasized that despite the specifics of medical institutions, the costs of their construction should not be so high. “We regularly build hospitals. Although such projects will be more expensive than ordinary buildings, the price per square meter should not exceed 1,000 dollars. Here, it was 1,424 dollars per square meter. This is a huge difference, and the cost of the project needs to be reviewed,” Oruntaev stated.
The minister also urged representatives of the construction company to continue the work, noting that contracts would be revised and signed under new terms.
The total estimated cost of constructing the hospital is 2 billion 303 million soms. Funding is provided from the Stabilization Fund of Kyrgyzstan, where 900 million soms have already been allocated, and 283 million soms have been transferred to the contractor.

Turmush previously reported that on June 22, 2025, a capsule-laying ceremony took place at the foundation of the new building of the Jalal-Abad regional hospital in Manas.
The Deputy Prime Minister – Chairman of the State Committee for National Security, Kamchybek Tashiev, the presidential representative in the Jalal-Abad region, Tilek Tekebaev, local authorities, and hospital staff attended the event.
The hospital staff had previously sent a letter to the Deputy Prime Minister, expressing their needs for improving the technical base. At the end of March, Oruntaev familiarized himself with the condition of the hospital, after which a decision was made to construct a modern medical facility with the possibility of helicopter landings.
As part of the instruction from the chairman of the State Committee for National Security, the old Soviet-era buildings were demolished, and the hospital grounds were cleared.
The construction of the new seven-story building for 280 beds on an area of about 2.5 hectares began with funding from the republican budget. The completion of the work is planned for June 2026.
