In anticipation of World Kidney Day, a specialized event was held in the city of Manas, where nephrologists voiced alarming statistics. Specialists report that the number of kidney diseases is steadily increasing, and the disease is rapidly "youthing."

According to Elenora Bapieva, head of the nephrology department at the Jalal-Abad Regional Unified Hospital, the main reason for the rise in morbidity is the failure to adhere to the principles of a healthy lifestyle and attempts at self-treatment. "Recently, there has been an increase in the number of citizens suffering from kidney diseases in the country, including in our region. Currently, 417 patients in our region require ongoing hemodialysis. The most alarming thing is that the disease is actively spreading among young people," says the doctor.

The specialist highlights several factors that provoke kidney failure in young people:

- Poor nutrition and harmful habits: excessive consumption of energy drinks and alcohol.

- Sedentary lifestyle: lack of physical activity.

- Stress: disruption of the nervous system.

- Self-treatment: negative consequences of attempts to treat oneself or using "folk medicine" methods.

- Use of psychoactive substances: use of narcotic drugs that severely impact the excretory system.

Elenora Bapieva stated that the only way to prevent the development of severe complications is early diagnosis. She strongly recommends that citizens take responsibility for their health and undergo a general medical examination (including tests) at least twice a year.

Additionally, during the event, it was reported that there are currently 134 patients under medical supervision in the region who have undergone kidney or liver transplant surgery.
