On March 26, Kyrgyzstan will hold an event called "Oral Health Day," dedicated to the International Oral Health Day, which is celebrated annually on March 20. This was reported by the country's Ministry of Health.
The main goal of the event is to prevent dental diseases among children, as well as to inform citizens about the importance of regular check-ups, to foster a culture of oral health care, and to increase personal responsibility for one's health and the health of children.
As part of this campaign, dentists in Kyrgyzstan will offer the following services:
preventive examinations for children;
professional oral hygiene;
sealants for the permanent teeth of children aged 6 to 14;
education on proper oral hygiene.
What does sealant application involve?
Sealant application is an effective method for preventing cavities in children's molars.
Fissures are natural grooves on the chewing surface of teeth where food particles and bacteria often accumulate. A special protective material "seals" these grooves, preventing the development of cavities.
The procedure is completely painless and safe, and is especially effective during the period when permanent teeth are forming.
Those who wish to participate are advised to register in advance at dental clinics in their area to avoid long waiting times and to make the visit as comfortable as possible.
The ministry also added that the list of clinics participating in the campaign will be confirmed later.
