Deputy Aidar Kamalov addressed the mayor with criticism regarding the current condition of this institution.
“The Osh Regional Blood Center has been reorganized and now operates as a combined center for the region and the city. However, the situation here is extremely alarming — this concerns all of us. Minimal acceptable conditions have not been created for donors. A plot of land was allocated back when the previous mayor was in office, behind the 'Elina' restaurant, but the issue of its use remains unresolved. When donors arrive at the site, they find that it does not meet medical standards. The problems are not with the center itself, but with the fact that its technical and material base leaves much to be desired, and the building does not comply with established requirements,” he noted.
According to Kamalov, every blood center is a guarantee of saving people's lives. “This is an important issue. It is necessary to consider the possibility of attracting funds from non-budgetary sources or sponsors. The land for the center has been allocated, but the legal documents have still not been processed. Many beautiful words are spoken about how the center will be built and an investor will come, but in reality, nothing changes. It would be good if this issue fell under your control,” the deputy added.
The head of the Osh Regional and City Blood Center, Melisbek Ormonov, confirmed that the institution does not meet medical standards.
“Since 2002, our center has been located on the 1st and 2nd floors of the Osh Interregional Combined Clinical Hospital dormitory. The building is narrow and in poor condition, not meeting sanitary requirements. The city administration has allocated a plot of land of 15 acres, but due to the lack of a sponsor, construction has not yet begun,” he reported.
