According to the legislation, only specialists with higher medical education have the right to practice folk medicine. This was stated by Aman Osmonov, head of the licensing department of the Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic, in the program "Elden Sobol".
He noted that only those who have completed their education at a higher educational institution and undergone appropriate advanced training in the field of folk medicine can engage in healing. Furthermore, the laws strictly prohibit the advertising of herbal medicines and mass healing practices.
"In 2024-2025, a series of large-scale inspections of private clinics was conducted. The results showed that short-term training courses are becoming a serious problem in the healthcare sector. In this regard, a proposal was submitted to the Cabinet of Ministers to reduce the number of such educational institutions. Currently, a moratorium has been imposed on the activities of centers that trained nurses, dentists, and cosmetologists in just three months," Osmonov added.
It is also worth noting that a new bill has been initiated aimed at banning the advertising of services by entrepreneurs who operate without the appropriate licenses and violate the legislation.
