In Kyrgyzstan, 194,682 newborn screenings were conducted in 2025, according to information provided by the Ministry of Health of Kyrgyzstan.

According to the data from this agency, over 80,000 infants were screened for congenital diseases.

Of the total number of screenings, 84,216 newborns were tested for congenital hypothyroidism, with a positive diagnosis in 10 cases.

Additionally, 60,753 children underwent testing for adrenal hyperplasia, and the diagnosis was confirmed in only two cases.

A total of 49,713 newborns were screened for phenylketonuria, among which three cases of the disease were identified.

The Ministry of Health emphasizes that early diagnosis is a key factor for timely treatment initiation and prevention of serious complications.
