During the parliamentary session on February 25, Deputy Elvira Surabaldiyeva of the Jogorku Kenesh proposed the idea of building a multi-profile hospital in the west of Bishkek.

She noted that the existing City Hospital No. 1 is located on a territory of 1 hectare, where once stood narcological and psychoneurological dispensaries, but now there are only old, dilapidated buildings.

According to Surabaldiyeva, the population of the nearby new buildings and the Kyzyl-Asker area exceeds 30,000 to 40,000 people, yet there is no modern medical facility in this area. Residents have to seek medical assistance in the city center, including the republican hospital, which creates additional difficulties due to traffic jams and the growing population flow.

The deputy proposed to construct a modern multi-profile hospital on this territory, which, in her opinion, would help alleviate the burden on central medical institutions. She suggested creating a large medical complex of up to 14 stories, similar to the one built for law enforcement agencies.

Surabaldiyeva also emphasized the importance of addressing staffing issues in healthcare, calling for close attention to this matter and ensuring the proper selection of specialists.

Damirbek Osmonov, the acting Minister of Health, in response to the initiative, noted that it is indeed aimed at solving an important problem. He emphasized that if about 34,000 residents are forced to travel to the center for medical services, it creates a burden on city hospitals and inconveniences for the population.

Osmonov added that this proposal will be considered and taken into account.
